Day 27, 6/5/12 to Dayton, Wyoming

KOA cabin, Greybull.  A sweet port in a storm.
Mari ready for a hot day of biking up Granite Pass.

Mari swiggin'

Terry at Shell. Now we can start our day. Get to climb about 5000 feet from here. We wanted to spend last night here, so we could start the climb at the beginning of the day, but yesterday's wind storm put an end to that plan.

Shell River, before it falls.
Climbing, have left the red rocks and forest. Getting into high desolate country towards  up by Granite Pass.
Still miles of climbing to go to Granite Pass.
Looking back, we came from beyond the horizon.
Mari on a sweet downhill area.  Still have climbing to do.

Terry at Granite Pass!  Whew.

Mari has a sweet feeling.
After miles of fairly flat roads up at Granite Pass, the big downhill descent to Dayton.  Last year it was snowing as we descended, and we ended up getting a ride for about 12 miles to Dayton.  This year it was a dry road, and steep.  Wonderful views of the land below us.
Daily 73.8  headwinds most of the day. Granite pass, 9033 ft. The highest point on the trip. A long 15 hour day, going further to Dayton, as we had business in Sheridan the next day.
Cabin. 1342.1 miles total.
