Day 25, 6/3/12 to Cody, Wyoming

Early morning view of  Lake Yellowstone.

Lake Yellowstone Hotel.

Mari at Lake Yellowstone

Bison coming towards us.  He is huge!

Another bison. Behind the safety of Terry's bicycle. Ha ha!

Lake Yellowstone as we started to climb.
Terry with burn area and Lake Yellowstone.

Eleanor Lake, still partially frozen.  Near the top of Sylvan Pass.

Mari at Sylvan Pass, elevation 8530 feet.

Terry at Sylvan Lake.  Aptly named, the area was very sylvan.

Daily: 79.1 miles, last 20 miles into a headwind.  Camped. 1212 miles total

Sylvan Pass.  There was no sign--it had probably been wiped out from the avalanche a year before.

Sylvan Pass, site of avalanche a year earlier. A year ago, the pass was closed due to the avalanche, but it opened on the day Terry and I wanted to leave Yellowstone.  It was open from  10 pm to 10 am, during the cold part of the night/day.  We got up at 4 a.m., and biked up and over the pass, and were out of the park by 10 a.m, when the east entrance closed again.

Buffalo Bill Reservoir

Rocks near Elephant Lodge.  The rocks of Wyoming are magnificent.
Terry at the end of the day.  Cody RV park.
Antler pile outside of someone's home.  Do you think there's much hunting in Wyoming?
